5 Star Roofing Honors Triad Veteran with Free Roof in 2026 Roofs of Honor Program

A new roof means more than protection from the elements. For one local military veteran, it represents a community coming together to say thank you.

In October 2026, 5 Star Roofing & Restoration proudly celebrated another milestone in its annual Roofs of Honor program, honoring Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient Charles “Cody” Haliscak with the gift of a brand-new roof.

The project, made possible through the company's partnership with GAF and the dedication of its team and community supporters, was recently featured on FOX8 News, highlighting a meaningful effort to recognize those who have served our country.

For a locally owned roofing company serving Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, and the surrounding Piedmont Triad, this initiative represents something close to our hearts: giving back to the people who have given so much.

Quick Answer: What Is 5 Star Roofing's Roofs of Honor Program?

Roofs of Honor is an annual community initiative organized by 5 Star Roofing & Restoration that provides free roof replacements to deserving military veterans.

The program brings together roofing professionals, industry partners, and local supporters to recognize military service through meaningful home improvements.

In 2026, the program honored Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient Charles “Cody” Haliscak, whose story was featured by FOX8 News.

Now in its third year, Roofs of Honor continues to demonstrate how local businesses can make a lasting difference in the communities they serve.

Honoring a Local Hero: Charles “Cody” Haliscak

Behind every military uniform is a story of commitment, courage, and sacrifice.

Charles “Cody” Haliscak served in the United States Marine Corps and received the Purple Heart, a military decoration awarded to service members wounded or killed as a result of enemy action.

His service represents the sacrifices made by countless American veterans and their families.

When Cody was selected as a recipient of the 2026 Roofs of Honor program, our team had the opportunity to express our gratitude in a way that would make a meaningful difference for his family.

By providing a new roof at no cost, we hope to offer something every family deserves: a safe, comfortable home and one less major expense to worry about.

Although no single gift can fully repay someone for their military service, we believe meaningful actions can express gratitude in ways words alone cannot.

To Cody and his family, thank you for allowing us to be part of your story.

How the 2026 Roofs of Honor Project Came Together

Providing a free roof replacement involves more than delivering roofing materials.

It requires careful planning, coordination, skilled roofing professionals, and people willing to contribute their time and resources.

Through the 2026 Roofs of Honor initiative, 5 Star Roofing & Restoration brought together its roofing team and project partners to help provide a new roof for a deserving veteran.

The effort reflects the same commitment to quality, care, and professionalism that guides our residential roofing work throughout the Piedmont Triad.

But this project carried a special purpose.

Instead of being a typical roof replacement, it was an opportunity to recognize military service while bringing the community together around a shared goal.

From the Roofs of Honor presentation to the roofing project itself, every contribution helped make the experience possible.

Our Partnership with GAF: Roofing with a Greater Purpose

One of the important partnerships supporting our Roofs of Honor program is our relationship with GAF, one of North America's leading roofing manufacturers.

As a GAF Master Elite® roofing contractor, 5 Star Roofing & Restoration is proud to work with a manufacturer known for its roofing products, contractor training, and roofing systems.

Our partnership with GAF extends beyond everyday roofing projects.

Through community initiatives such as Roofs of Honor, we have an opportunity to put our combined resources and expertise toward something meaningful.

A properly installed roof helps protect a home from rain, wind, moisture intrusion, and the changing weather conditions experienced throughout North Carolina.

For the families who receive these roofs, that protection can also bring greater peace of mind.

We're grateful to GAF and everyone who helped support the 2026 Roofs of Honor project.

FOX8 News Features the 2026 Roofs of Honor Recipient

The story of Cody Haliscak and the 2026 Roofs of Honor program was recently highlighted by FOX8 News in a feature titled “Triad veteran gets home upgrade in Roofs of Honor giveaway.”

The coverage brought attention to Cody's military service and the local effort to recognize his sacrifice with a new roof.

For our team, seeing this story shared with viewers throughout the Piedmont Triad was especially meaningful.

We hope the coverage encourages more people to recognize the contributions of veterans within their own communities and inspires other businesses and organizations to find ways to give back.

Three Years of Giving Back Through Roofs of Honor

The 2026 Roofs of Honor project marks another chapter in an initiative that has become an important part of 5 Star Roofing & Restoration's community involvement.

Over the past three years, the program has provided an opportunity to recognize veterans and celebrate the sacrifices they have made for our country.

Each recipient has a different story, but the purpose remains the same: to make a meaningful difference for people who deserve our gratitude and support.

The program also allows our team, business partners, and local supporters to contribute to something bigger than an everyday roofing project.

For us, that's what community involvement should be about: finding practical ways to help others and creating a positive impact that lasts.
